Well, well, well. Off we go again my lovely friends and Followers, especially those of you who have recently "signed up".
I had been given a dolls house kit by a friend that was untouched, and spent much of the past month thinking of ways to "improve" upon it! Eventually after running several (and I know you know that I mean several) scenarios in my poor head I came to the realisation that I should take the plunge and build my own house. Thus getting exactly what I want.
It's not a mansion by any standards but a good sized villa. It will have red brick walls and tall white windows from Lawbre on the ground floor and regular ones on the first floor (they're to die for!!). I'm undecided about the roof and attic, I think it may simply be two floors. I'm aiming for a mix of Georgian with a modern twist, and American Mansion. This is the sort of thing I am coinsidering...
I have been trolling through some favourite Blogs of mine for inspiration on the "DIY" front, such as Andy (click here) John (click here) Alexandra (click here) to see some of the How's and Why's (I have also been totally inspired by Ray's recent Kitchen project (click here) ). I didn't want anything too large as I get scared too easily!!

The writing isn't too clear.
This picture above gives you an idea of the ground (1st) floor plan. Rooms numbered are:
- Kitchen
- Butler's Pantry
- Dining Room
- Hall, with staircase off to right at far end
- Drawing Room
- Study
- Courtyard at rear with windows on study and Kitchen outer walls
Given my pension for changing things (my mind, amongst other things!) I am planning to do something "special" with the drawing room, but there'll be more on that.
And now, with a heavy nod to our dear friend Ray Whiteldge, I wondered if I may take this opportunity to ask you for suggestions on the name of the house? I was thinking along the lines of blank Manor, or something, but if you have any thoughts then please do drop me line.
Have a great week All and I'll post more when I have it.
TTFN
Simon
